The primary purpose of this position is to perform comprehensive asset management by establishing accountability of sensitive Information Technology (IT) hardware assets by formal receipt and acceptance in the Air Force's official accountable property system of record, and conducting organizational analysis for a diversity of organizations, functions, and work processes.
Conducts the Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) and Personal Wireless Communication Systems (PWCS) programs for the installation.
Executes ITAM program planning, operations, and related training requirements.
Uses technical skills to help perform management and/or program support assignments.
Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services and takes a proactive approach in promoting the IT AM/PWCS programs.
Conditions of Employment
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series, 0301 in conjunction with Group Coverage Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-07) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include experience performing accountability of Information Technology (IT) assets, receiving and transferring excess IT hardware, conducting inventories and preparing reports. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-07 grade/level or equivalent position in the federal service. OR
EDUCATION: (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS) Must have completed a Master's Degree or equivalent degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D., if related. OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: I have an equivalent combination of specialized experience described above, and graduate level education (Only graduate level beyond the first year is creditable in the combination). Note: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in the application of Department of Defense, Joint, and Air Force management principles, concepts, and methodologies and Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) directives, procedures, guidance, and policy. Knowledge of Air Force Equipment Management System Asset Inventory Management (AFEMS-AIM) used to receive, add, transfer, and excess Information Technology assets; and to manage account information to include equipment custodians, office symbols, active and inactive accounts, and inventory status. Knowledge of ITAM inventory procedures and ability to prepare inventory reports. Skill in providing advice and technical guidance to representatives from installation organizations. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy and diplomacy. Ability to access or locate information through the use of a personal computer and software programs. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
