Seattle Children's Hospital Program Manager I in Seattle, Washington

Work in collaboration with department/program leadership to develop, implement and evaluate departmental goals, strategies, programs, and projects that support department/program and hospital goals and the continuous improvement process. Plan, develop and execute complex and comprehensive program management and continuous improvement program supporting established goals and timelines. Act as an integration and dissemination specialist to transfer knowledge and mobilize key tactics for improvement and project activities. Oversee the process of developing, executing, resolving issues, communicating, and driving the final results of each program improvement and key collaborative initiatives within budget and on time. Facilitate effective communication with all stakeholders, including external stakeholders as appropriate. Oversee and lead specific projects and project teams as needed.

Develop and disseminate print and web materials, reports, toolkits and presentations for advocacy, injury prevention, community health and benefit programs. Provide timely and accurate technical assistance.

Track, analyze and evaluate program data; awareness data; and other data related to advocacy, community health and benefit and injury prevention. Write up methods and results for reports and publications.

Provide program and project management and overall coordination for complex advocacy, community health and benefit initiatives both internally and externally. Build mutually beneficial relationships and act as liaison between internal and external stakeholders and audiences, including public health and community based organizations. Develop, prioritize and implement program goals and objectives including communications, and community outreach strategies and initiatives. Lead, collaborate and contribute to the development, execution and evaluation of strategic community health and benefit programs. Research and compile data, tools, and policies, evidence based practices, and other information in support of community health and benefit programs.

Incorporate community engagement in all strategies and stay current on literature specific to focus areas.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, health care or related field.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience leading quality improvement initiatives in a health care setting.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience overseeing programs or projects.

Required Credentials:

  • N/A

Preferred:

  • Masters in Health Administration, business, or health care-related field.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Experience successfully developing relationships across all sectors of the health care environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead improvement efforts related to safety pillar strategic goals.

  • Experience analyzing improvement data and working with internal clients to analyze and develop improvement strategies.

  • Experience leading committees, activities and staff.

  • Knowledge of and experience using continuous improvement/Lean methodologies and processes.

  • Knowledge of mentoring and various management techniques and applications.

  • Knowledge of communication methods and techniques.

  • Awareness of current and emerging trends in project management technologies, techniques, issues and approaches

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to explain, present or discuss difficult information and gain group consensus.

  • Experience training/presenting, facilitating.

  • Experience project managing large complex organizational initiatives that cross all departments and roles.

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and function effectively as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to work within deadlines and resource constraints.

  • Demonstrated successful experience working with vendors, consultants and other purchased services.

  • Experience working in a complex organization.
