Job Profile

Position Overview As a Data Center Facilities Engineer and a member of PNC's Data Center Facilities Planning group within the Technology Infrastructure / Data Center and Cloud Products organization, you will be instrumental in helping to maintain PNC's reputation for technology excellence and world class data center operations. Your area provides design, build, implementation and operations support in the following areas: mainframe hardware planning and installation, data center infrastructure planning and design, structured copper and fiber cabling systems design & implementation and technology infrastructure hardware installation support.

As a key contributor, you will represent the Data Center Facilities team and provide data center facilities engineering and consulting to technology projects involving the build out of data center and/or technology infrastructure within PNC's enterprise data centers. Your knowledge of data center facilities planning, experience in working within dynamic project teams and skill in coordinating and managing multiple tasks and activities with others will drive the success of PNC's technology strategies and goals.

You will also perform a variety of tasks related to, but not limited to, security access, coordinating system implementation, testing and troubleshooting support, coordinating and managing mainframe hardware and data center infrastructure maintenance activities and maintain internal systems for monitoring and housing Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) information.

Your strong attention to detail skills will come into play as you assist in tracking relevant data center capacity metrics and provide regular reporting so we can increases capacity as necessary to fulfill business needs.

Job Description

  • Installs, configures and maintains operating hardware and software.

  • Troubleshoots networking and operating system problems.

  • Provides recommendations for hardware and software planning and budgeting related issues.

Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
