POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Government Grant Writer

LOCATION: Flexible location, preference for Per Scholas campus cities

REPORTS TO: Senior Director, National Development

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Per Scholas is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Government Grants to join the national development team. Senior Manager, Government Grants is responsible for identifying, securing and managing financial resources from government agencies, including federal, state, and local government sources. Primary responsibilities include researching, identifying and writing grant applications for government funding opportunities and managing (in collaboration with program staff) the post-award process. You will partner with a team of experienced and talented Development professionals, and increase the share of revenue from government sources across Per Scholas markets in accordance with the Per Scholas growth plan.

WHAT YOU?LL DO:

  • Identify and research new government funding sources, monitoring all pertinent government opportunities.

  • Analyze all relevant RFPs, and prepare summary memos for Program and Development staff. Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to plan for all government grant opportunities.

  • Lead the preparation and development of government grant proposals, including all external and internal outreach and planning required and the drafting of the narrative, budget, and all attachments; ensure that all internal and final deadlines are met and proposal components are being addressed by relevant staff, including development, fiscal and program staff.

  • Analyze program data to articulate goals, activities, anticipated outcomes, successes, challenges, etc. to funders.

  • Partner with the fiscal, program and development teams to ensure that reports are completed accurately and on time, as needed, including identifying new data or reporting needs to our Salesforce team in a timely manner.

  • Develop testimony, support memos or program summaries for government agencies or legislative bodies as requested, in partnership with program team and development leads.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with project officers and program managers at funder agencies to facilitate quality and timely reporting and continued funding.

  • Ensure all renewals and reports are accurately recorded in Salesforce for calendar management.

WHAT YOU?LL BRING TO US:

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) required, Master?s degree or Law degree preferred.

  • At least three years of successful government grant-writing experience, preferably with state and local grants in key Per Scholas markets.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and copy editing skills; demonstrated grant writing success with state/federal funding opportunities preferred.

  • Excellent project management skills, with a proactive communication style.

  • Proven research abilities, including gathering and interpreting data; government prospecting experience desirable.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Google Apps for Business (Docs, Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Chat, etc.).
