Kelly Services Accountant in Indianapolis, Indiana
Kelly Services is seeking candidates for Accountant positions in Indianapolis, IN.
Long term contract with possible hire position.
Pay: $15 per hour
8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration of the computerized payment system in a major state agency including maintenance of records, control of appropriated funds and an accurate, timely and complete accounting of assigned accounts. Ability to take notes and observe processes, formulating the information obtained from these exercises into clear and concise documentation of processes and procedures.
Advises the controller or supervisor on the status of vendor invoices.
Assists in the development of general policies for KT Invoicing.
Prepares or supervises the preparation of accounting records in the KT Invoicing System.
Assists management in the preparation of agency or program area budget requests.
Reconciles complex discrepancies between invoices and supporting documentation and notifies the appropriate department or supervisor of errors.
Prepares reports for reconciliation between submitted invoices and actual payments.
Analyzes and interprets submitted invoices and supporting documentation.
Serves as liaison between agency and the Service providers.
Coordinates computerized accounting system within assigned area.
Certifies the accuracy of submitted invoices and supporting documentation.
Directs the work of lower-level accountants and account clerks assisting in complex or unusual situations.
Interacts with state and federal auditors.
Extensive knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of governmental accounting, and auditing.
Extensive knowledge of agency organization and function.
Extensive knowledge of federal and state accounting and bookkeeping laws, policies and procedures.
Specialized knowledge of the state government organization and function.
Specialized knowledge of automated accounting systems.
Ability to solve complex accounting methods and procedures to meet agency needs.
Ability to develop effective work relationships.
Ability to reconcile discrepancies between invoices and documentation.
Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
