What you’ll be doing:
You will oversee wellness needs of our residents and staff as it relates to infection control and COVID-19 concerns and coordinate healthcare functions with the Director of Nursing and Assisted Living team. You will manage the infection control programs for the community. You will oversee onboarding of new employees in healthcare settings and insure training programs are in place and initiated.
How you’ll do it:
Oversee and manage all efforts to minimize the spread of infectious diseases throughout the community. Work to increase coordination, communication, and teamwork within and among all departments. Manage prevention process measures across the continuum.
Provide and facilitate COVID-19 screening, testing, contact tracing, vaccine clinics and reporting. With IDT develop community-wide education, visitation policies and standards per CDC guidelines.
Remain educated on developments and guidance from the Center for Disease Control, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Department of Health Services and Public Health Departments.
Respiratory Program Administrator (Fit testing for N95)
Monthly Infection Surveillance rounds (includes housekeeping and environmental rounds)
Coordinate Influenza and Pneumococcal Immunization Programs.
Administer TB testing per state regulations.
Understand and apply federal and state administrative rules skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
Coordinate in-service education and in-person training for healthcare staff. Teach the Halcyon Certification Program.
Maintain up to date education log for all healthcare staff
Conduct orientation for new healthcare staff. Implement and maintain the Preceptor program to ensure comprehensive onboarding and competency testing for all nursing staff.
Participate in the QAPI Committee and other IDT meetings and facility improvement efforts.
Proficient in the use of the Electronic Health Records system and uses this knowledge to train and support staff
Contribute to C.N.A. Evaluations
Provide rotating on-call nurse coverage for manager on duty program.
Assist and support the DNS with staffing and scheduling needs of the nursing department as needed
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Three (3) years’ experience in home care management or nursing, infection control, skilled nursing or a related field is preferred.
Registered Nurse (RN) license from an accredited program, school or university is preferred.
Knowledge of the reporting process with the Department of Health regarding the National Health Safety Network (NHSN).
Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification. (AZ: Basic Life Support and Food Handler’s card also required.)
Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
Adept at Microsoft Office.
