OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County is currently sourcing Part Time Caregiver candidates for senior home care agencyJob Summary: In a private home environment or health care facility, i.e. Assisted Living Facility (ALF), Nursing Home, the Caregiver, HHA or STNA is required to perform the general job duties and responsibilities as set forth below. Job duties and responsibilities do not include any medical procedures requiring licensed clinical personnel as required by the State of Ohio. When in ALF or Nursing Home, direct supervision and direction is provided by clinical personnel while on site. Qualifications: Must be at least twenty-one years old and have a minimum of a high school diploma. Must have a minimum of two to three years of verifiable work experience as a Caregiver/HHA/STNA. Must display good emotional health and be able to physically tolerate much standing, bending, stooping, etc. Must be able to read, follow written instructions, and legibly document care given. Must have (3) satisfactory references from previous employers. Should demonstrate flexibility in acceptance of assignments and a cooperative service attitude toward the care recipient, family members, and co-workers. Valid driver's license preferred. Must meet all agency requirements. Pet friendly a plus. General Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assists client in all activities of personal hygiene such as bathing, grooming, dressing, washing hair, and denture care. 2. Prepares meals as directed and within the patient's diet as instructed by family members; assists with eating when necessary 3. Assists clients with transfers, (i.e. bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet, etc.), ambulation, and range of motion exercises (as instructed by family member or physical therapist) 4. Performs light housekeeping chores: vacuuming and light dusting care recipient's bedroom in addition to other areas where care recipient spends time (i.e. living room, family room, dent, etc.); sweeping and spot mopping kitchen floor; washing dishes and cleaning area after cooking, tidying bathroom and spot mopping; emptying trash in respective areas. 5. Assists client with toileting needs, both in bathroom and/or on bedpan. 6. Changes linen and launders such in addition to any personal clothing items of care recipient. 7. Answers clients' calls and attends to their requests promptly. 8. Serves as companion to care recipient. Escorts to doctors' appointments, social outings, recreational activities, as authorized by family or designated authority. Drives client to off site locations as authorized by family or designated authority. 9. Shops and provides errand service for care recipient as requested. (i.e. grocery store, drug store, dry cleaners, etc.) 10. Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly. 11. Completes records accurately and carries out all assignments as requested. 12. Accurately communicates to appropriate persons and Visiting Angels office any acute or pertinent changes to care recipient or their condition. Communicates information which may directly or indirectly impact care or service rendered to care recipient. 13. Reminds care recipient of medications when appropriate time. 14. Maintains confidentiality regarding the care recipient's condition and his/her family, with the exception of the Agency, physician or designated licensed nursing personnel. 15. Performs all skills and procedures competently and in accordance with Agency requirements and policies, and other applicable State laws. 16.
