We are looking for a passionate experience-oriented leader to lead the internal colleague experience team (CX Team) who design amazing and delightful experiences that enable the company’s distributed workforce to do their best work through a frictionless experience.
The Colleague Experience organization consists of a globally distributed team of UI/UX designers and researchers.
What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
We are looking for a senior leader who will continue to drive and evolve the company’s focus on experience in everything we do starting with ensuring experience is core to how the technology organization creates and delivers technology experiences and services for the company.
You will help craft the vision for colleague experience for the company, creating an inspiring, delightful and innovative culture focused on delivering frictionless experience.
You will recruit, retain, develop and manage the growing UX/UI design and Colleague research team
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Develop a cutting-edge experience and teams to execute a colleague centric, best-in-class, frictionless environment for our colleagues to do their best work.
Work across the broader CIO and CDTO organization to ensure colleague experience is thoughtfully considered from conception of programs and ideas.
Continue to develop a colleague centric approach in everything the CDTO/CIO organization provides to the company.
Establish a repeatable framework to measure colleague experience.
Curate and manage the pipeline of innovation ideas, owning the process to expose early concepts to the senior leadership team.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Provide strategic colleague experience leadership
Champion design-thinking and UX best practices across the organization — advocate a user-centered approach toward product design and processes with compelling storytelling and demos
Collaborate with leaders across the company to ensure colleague experience is thoughtfully consider early in the ideation process versus an after thought.
Set the strategic direction for the colleague experience team.
Establish and communicate effective ux design processes through a strong understanding of user-centered design techniques coupled with practical experience in how a design team should collaborate cross-functionally for maximum effectiveness delivering solutions
Recruit and develop extraordinary talent, by coaching, managing and mentoring a team of designers
Lead strong teams through rapidly evolving, complex demands, including multiple projects with dependencies on other internal teams
Lead and empower a highly talented organization
Scale the CX team through the creation & implementation of processes & tools within product development
Embed and expand design-thinking processes around user research, rapid prototyping, testing & iterating in a cross-disciplinary environment
Stay informed about and integrate with strategic and emerging technologies
- Create a culture of innovation and exploration by balancing delivery while building business value. Anticipate opportunities and proactively drive change leveraging new technologies.

You will be reporting to Richard Leong, Senior Director, Colleague Experience and Technology. As a tenured employee of VMware. His organization is responsible for colleague facing technology and enablement.
The Colleague Experience and Technology organization reports to the CIO.
